The NFL got some sad news today. He became a referee in 1992, and refereed Super Bowl XXXII in 1998 and Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004.

Longtime referee Ed Hochuli is retiring from officiating and will be replaced by his son, Shawn, according to National Football League senior vice president of officiating Al Riveron on Tuesday.

Hochuli, 67, who was the longest-tenured referee, will serve as an independent consultant to the NFL.

Shawn Hochuli is Ed Hochuli's son.

Triplette also was the official who threw a penalty flag in 1999 that hit then-Browns tackle Orlando Brown in the eye, injuring the player. He now lives in Phoenix and alongside his officiating career worked at the Valley law firm Jones, Skelton & Hochuli.

Storm warning in effect
Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches, with localized amounts up to 5 inches, and ice accumulations of a glaze are expected. Lessor said parts of the the shoreline could avoid snow altogether and get more rain "depending on how close the storm gets".

We're saying goodbye to his long-winded explanations for his calls, but the thing everyone will truly miss is his sculpted physique.

Ed Hochuli is also an attorney in Arizona.

Hochuli began as a Pop Warner League referee in Tucson in 197.

Kemp is relatively new to the NFL; FootballZebras.com writes that he's been with the NFL since 2014, but was with the Big Ten for a few years previously.
