After a very successful summit between North and South Korea, the Trump-Kim summit is expected to focus on a denuclearization deal.

He also seems to have talked about the potential distrust that the United States has with regards to North Korea's pledge to scale back and eventually end their mission to become a nuclear power.

An official with South Korea's Blue House disputed The Times' report, saying that a US National Security Council representative assured them that the report was "not true", according to Yonhap News.

The New York Times earlier reported that U.S. President Donald Trump has instructed the Department of Defense to review a possible reduction of U.S. Forces Korea.

In June, Otto Warmbier, an American college student who was arrested and held prisoner in North Korea, died just days after being returned to his family in the US while in a coma.

The officials said, however, that a peace treaty between the two Koreas could diminish the need for the 23,500 U.S. soldiers now stationed on the peninsula, the newspaper said. He was also concerned about the cost of maintaining the military in South Korea.

Facebook is also adding a Watch Party feature, which means you can watch and comment on videos in realtime with your friends. Questions like whether the calendar will be private and also will it be possible to view the old stories or not.

Bruce Klingner, a senior research fellow for Northeast Asia at the Heritage Foundation, said, "I think having US military on the peninsula is the most tangible signal of USA resolve and commitment to our allies as possible". Moon Chung-in, an adviser to the South Korean president, said negotiations with the North may change the calculus.

The U.S. now has 23,500 soldiers stationed in South Korea, under the 1953 Korean War Armistice Agreement. "It will be hard to justify their continuing presence". The presence of USA troops and their families is seen as a key deterrent that's kept more serious hostilities from breaking out on the Korean peninsula. So why would Trump order the Pentagon to look into troop withdrawal?

While Kim has long insisted that USA troops leave the peninsula, and railed against the annual U.S.

Kim, a South Korean-born USA citizen, has been held the longest.

Trump administration officials have pressed for the release of the Korean-Americans as a sign of goodwill before the planned meeting. "South Korea alliance, it would represent a major retrenchment", Cha said. Could it be that Trump isn't the master negotiator he claims he is?
