Rockstar has released a new trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2.

These exclusive Red Dead Redemption 2 Previews, which went live at 3pm BST (7am Pacific, 10am Eastern, and Midnight AEST), are available on a variety of different outlets worldwide, including IGN and Gamepro. Complementing all of this detail is a reportedly stunning graphics engine that may look just as good as the visuals shown in the game's highly-cinematic trailers.

Not only is Red Dead Redemption 2 the biggest game it has created in terms of sheer size - its massive Wild West environment is fit to burst with activities, mini-games, side quests, story missions and more - the level of immersion the developer is aiming for is the deepest it's ever been. Yes, there seems to be no doubt that John Marston-another Van der Linde gang member-is back, and we'll apparently find out how he got those scars of his. Lawmen have begun to hunt down the last remaining outlaw gangs as Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee after a bank robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater. One of the more eye opening details comes closer to the end where we see John Marston. It was largely already assumed that the game was going to be a prequel to the first one, putting emphasis on the infamous gang that the first game's protagonist was a part of.

The new trailer confirms the speculation, as it reveals that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be set in 1899, which is years before the events that transpired in Red Dead Redemption set in 1911. "Those who will not surrender or succumb are killed", it reads.

Rockstar Games' co-studio head, Rob Nelson, recently took up an interview about Red Dead Redemption 2. "As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him".

The west-bound train of Red Dead Redemption is gathering more and more steam.
