National Donut Day: Made possible by the Salvation Army

  • Free doughnuts and coffee — plus a chance to donate — on National Doughnut Day

Dunkin' Donuts: One free classic donut of your choice when you buy any beverage. Friday June 1, Bakemark and The Salvation Army will host the 2 annual National Donut Day Donut Eating contest at TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood at 11:30am. As long as you're one of the first 100 people at the store on Friday, you will get a doughnut on the house. No purchase necessary here, either. The chain says it's selling caramel creme-filled, cinnamon sugar-coated donut hole dessert at participating locations for a limited time.

As a matter of fact, Americans love donuts so much, there are two National Donut Days with the second one being celebrated in November. Once the $100 is gone there will not be anymore free doughnuts at that location. Their donut-shaped Granny Smith apple slices are covered in chocolate and a variety of toppings.

As for the ex-Jazzmen, Hill and Kyle Korver combined to make three 3-pointers, while Rodney Hood stayed on the bench. However, Smith contradicted Lue's comments as the Cavs guard insisted he knew the game was tied at Oracle Arena.

In addition to serving doughnuts, the Donut Girls also provided writing supplies and stamps, and offered a clothes-mending service to the soldiers in battle. Some of the biggest chains are offering epic deals and freebies to celebrate on June 1.

Other places getting in on the free donut action are Canada's Tim Hortons (also found throughout the United States), Cumberland Farms, The Dough Bar (the protein donut company you might have caught on Shark Tank), Papa Johns (hello warmed donut holes) and Walmart. Also, the Mainstream Boys Homemade Empanadas food truck will be around and theres live music from Daisy and the Drivers starting at 8 p.m. 222 22nd St. S, St. Petersburg. Locations throughout the Williamsburg area will be giving away a free doughnut with the purchase of any drink. By the end of the day, the retailer predicts it will be giving away about 1.2 million donuts. I suppose just that all five local Federal Donuts shops will be selling the special donuts all day on Friday.
