Donald Trump has pardoned Alice Johnson, a 63-year-old great grandmother serving a life sentence in prison after Kim Kardashian West advocated for her clemency during a White House meeting last week.

Alice Marie Johnson has been reunited with her family after spending 21 years in prison for a non-violent drug offense, the only of which she had ever committed.

"I'm so just amazed to hear that I'm actually one of his tweets", she told "New Day".

A White House spokesperson said Johnson was a model prisoner and had paid her dues to society, hence her release after Kardashian lobbied for her.

Johnson was convicted in 1996 on eight criminal counts related to a Memphis-based cocaine trafficking operation.

The White House released an official statement earlier this week saying that Alice Johnson had "accepted responsibility for her past behaviour". "Kim and I are standing by to speak with Miss Alice now".

She went on to thank President Trump and Jared Kushner, writing, "So grateful to @realDonaldTrump, Jared Kushner & to everyone who has showed compassion & contributed countless hours to this important moment for Ms. Alice Marie Johnson".

The Serbian, who is not committed to any event before The Championships, commented: 'I don't know if I'm going to play on grass . The matches between David Goffin and Gael Monfils , and Lucas Pouille and Karen Khachanov , were suspended due to poor weather.

"I think that he really spent the time to listen to our case that we were making for Alice", Kardashian West told Mic in an interview of her conversation with the president. So, I'll do what I have to do ... to get you out or make this happen if I have the power to do that, ' " she said.

"I read it so many times". She said she turned her life around in prison and decided that she wasn't "going to just do time or let time do me".

"She's actually achieved nothing", he said on The Project on Thursday night. She was tried on charges of cocaine conspiracy and money-laundering charges. She then delivered the news herself that Johnson's life plus 25-year sentence was being commuted.

Johnson also shared a message for the president.

Speaking of Kardashian West, Johnson added, "Bless Kim, our little angel".

"I believe because I'm recognized now and my case is magnified through media, it has caught the attention of others", Johnson said.
