  • PTI continues to gain momentum

Imran Khan is trying to form a coalition government that would put his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party in charge.

"Pakistan ke saath taaluqaat mein naye daur ka aaghaaz par taiyaar hain - Bharatiya vazeer e azam (We are ready for the beginning of a new era in relations with Pakistan - Indian prime minister)", said the PTI press note.

Sources say the PTI chief will vacate National Assembly seats from Islamabad (NA-53), Bannu (NA-35), Karachi (NA-243), and Lahore (NA-131).

The PTI leaders who have won more than one seat will have to vacate additional seats as the law allows an individual to retain only one seat.

Khan had floated his party in 1996 but one of the most loved cricketers found it hard to emulate his success in politics.

Pakistani residents of the UAE have said they have high hopes for their country's new prime minister but remain cautiously optimistic that Imran Khan will accomplish all that he has set out to do. Opposition parties on Friday said they rejected the results and would call for new elections. The meeting in Islamabad was chaired by PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif and Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) president Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

Mr Khan in his victory speech had also said that better relations between Pakistan and India would be "good for all of us".

European Union election observers expressed concerns that there was "a notable lack in equality of opportunity" in the vote, which was "not as good" as the country's previous election in 2013.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas 'engaged after two months of dating'
Speculations are made that Nick Jonas proposed to Priyanka when the duo was holidaying in London to celebrate actress' birthday. Nick reportedly shut down a Tiffany store in NY to hunt for the flawless ring for his ladylove.

Sharif's Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had 62 seats, the results showed. They condemned the interference of "state agencies" in the election, a veiled reference to the military and intelligence apparatus.

The PTI "will see the numbers first once we are in the government", said Alvi.

Amidst this, if Modi attends the swearing-in of Imran who has the strong backing of the Pakistan Army, it may lead to the peace talks.

Other parties which will have representation in the NA are the Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) with three members, and Jamhoori Watan Party, Awami National Party and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaniyat with one seat each.

The PML-N, which claims it was the target of military manipulation, said it would join in the protests although no date was immediately announced.

"We are pretty much there in the National Assembly. talks are going on with MQM as well", said Faisal Javed Khan, a senior PTI spokesman.

To form the government, Khan needs to garner a simple majority in the lower house.
