Egypt's top prosecutor, however, dismissed speculation on Saturday that the couple had been killed by poisonous gas emissions.

"We will be contacting those customers due to travel to the Steigenberger Aqua Magic Hotel in Hurghada in the next four weeks to offer alternative holiday options".

These findings were revealed to the public shortly after the Coopers" daughter, Kelly Ormerod, told Sky News that her parents had been "in flawless health' just hours earlier.

She told Sky News she was convinced that "something suspicious" had happened to them, having enjoyed a family meal and then seen them off to bed at around 1.30am.

"I watched them die before my very eyes and they had exactly the same symptoms", said Ms Ormerod. "I don't believe anyone has entered the room, but something has happened in that room that caused them to be taken away from us".

In a statement to Lancashire-based radio station 2BR, Mrs Ormerod said: "As a family we are devastated".

But lawyer Nick Harris, who is representing guests of the same hotel, said the authorities are trying to downplay the deaths to protect the tourism industry which has been in decline since the Arab Spring of 2011.

The tour company said Thursday it had received reports of "a raised level of illness" among some of its other 300 customers at the Steigenberger. We take all illness very seriously and have taken the decision to expand our ongoing investigation into the sudden deaths of two of our customers at the Steigenberger earlier this week to include any other customer reports of illness at the hotel this summer.

Thomas Cook said it would offer customers alternative hotels in the resort or the option to fly back to Britain later on Friday.

Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe held in Iran released temporarily
The campaign thanked "all those involved in making this possible in Tehran and London , and the new foreign secretary". Mr Ratcliffe has previously criticised the British Government for not doing enough to help with his wife's case.

British guests at the hotel have been flown home in the aftermath of the deaths.

He said: "We are deeply saddened by the deaths of two of our customers while on holiday in Hurghada in Egypt, one of whom was a loyal and long-serving member of our Thomas Cook family".

"We spoke to the reps throughout the whole time we were there about why we were poorly - if it was because of food poisoning or the air conditioning", she said.

It also said Susan Cooper was later rushed to hospital after fainting and underwent resuscitation attempts for 30 minutes but died. Janine Traviss, from Oldham, England, said she and her partner contracted a stomach bug earlier this month.

In its own statement, the prosecutor's office appeared to rule out foul play, saying that investigators had found "no evidence of physical violence or resistance" in the couple's room. "We have no cause of death, a post mortem is underway".

THE DAUGHTER of a couple who died whilst on holiday in Egypt has said her parents were "fit and healthy" before their deaths.

The hotel was last audited by Thomas Cook in July and received an overall score of 96 percent.
