Mauricio Pochettino calls Tottenham's summer transfer inactivity 'brave'

Mauricio Pochettino ended last season seemingly hopeful of retaining the bulk of his squad but also keen to bring in some new box office players to light up the club's new stadium.

"You saw it with Arsenal when they moved to the Emirates, you can't buy anyone, you have to sell players. Some people make a drama in football and drama for me is another thing", Pochettino said.

"Until you finish the game you can't say it's the end. We believe a lot in our players and there's no point now to say, why not repeat a similar season like past year or the season before, and with more experience".

"What the club is doing is showing that it is so fearless because building a new training ground, finishing the (player) lodge this summer is a massive investment".

"Of course people in football find it hard to understand that Tottenham didn't sign or sell players, but sometimes in football you need to behave differently".

'I am the boss and if I expect from you to do something, then you need to provide it.

Saudi says no room for mediation in Canada row
Barrick Gold Corp. says a political row between Saudi Arabia and Canada likely won't impact its copper operations in the Kingdom. The kingdom has suspended educational exchanges with Canada and moved Saudi scholars to other countries.

"It's true our targets are always the same level as Manchester United, Manchester City or Real Madrid but for different circumstances we can't achieve that".

"If we are happy with our squad and can not improve our squad, sometimes it's better to keep our squad together".

"I am not anxious, I am not sad, I am so happy". It is better to keep [what you have].

"I think it was a great job from the club to keep the best players - and the best manager".

The player was reportedly interested in the move as he wants to play Champions League football this season but will now turn his attention back to helping his current employers back to the top flight of English football. They need to try to be focused and ready to compete and give their best when I decide to put them on the pitch, and then be professional on the training ground.

"Some need more time to get fit than others".
