Pogba, though, silenced his critics during the World Cup as the Manchester United record signing helped France to win the major tournament in Russian Federation.

Sky Italy have said that United have turned down £45m plus Everton linked defender Yerry Mina and Portuguese midfielder Andre Gomes.

United said last night that Pogba was not for sale amid claims that Barcelona and Juventus want to sign the World Cup victor before the European transfer window shuts at the end of the month.

Pogba came through the youth system at United before leaving for Juventus on a free transfer.

Earlier this week, there was talk of Manchester United looking at Mina.

The Portuguese harshly criticised some of the younger players on tour with his team in the USA, while he has also warned the board over their lack of activity in the transfer window.

His agent, Mino Raiola, is expected in Manchester this week to negotiate the transfer of Pogba out of Old Trafford.

It was flying a group of 14 Swiss nationals and a three-member family from Austria on a sightseeing tour for the company JU-AIR. According to German-language newspaper Blick , the plane was full for the flight, suggesting that up to 20 people may be dead.

But this isn't the first time the 25-year-old's future at Old Trafford has been in doubt.

But Manchester United are confident they will be keeping Pogba as Mourinho looks for his side to close the gap on Premier League champions Manchester City.

"I don't think it's about us getting the best out of him", Mourinho told ESPN FC.

With Mourinho known for not staying at a club for longer than three seasons, fans seem to be wary ahead of his third campaign at United. Thank you. He's my friend, I grew up with him.

Mourinho dropped Pogba from his starting XI midway through last season amid concerns over his tactical discipline, while the Frenchman argued with his manager over tactics.

'For one month the players are in a closed camp, ' Mourinho explained.
