  • FREIBURG GERMANY- AUGUST 07 ATTENTION EDITORS Pixelation done in accordance with court orders. Defendants Christian L. and Berrin T. arrive for their pronouncement of judgement on charges related to sexual abuse of a minor at the regional cour

Berrin was sentenced to 12½ years in prison while Christian received a 12-year sentence in Freiburg state court.

The couple were found guilty of rape, aggravated sexual assault of children, forced prostitution and distribution of child pornography.

A German mother and her partner who sold the woman's son for sex on the internet have been convicted over his repeated rape in a case that has horrified the country.

A Spanish man was on Monday (Aug 6) sentenced by the court to 10 years behind bars for repeatedly sexually abusing the young boy.

Her partner, Christian L., was sentenced to 12 years.

They charged several thousand euros (dollars) for each instance of abuse, filmed the acts and posted them on the dark net.

Christian L, who violated a child contact order when he lived with the boy, holds previous convictions for paedophilia.

Israel seizes Swedish activist ship en route to Gaza
On Friday Ezzat al-Rishaq, a member of the Hamas political office, told protesters along the border they were "committed to calm". The boat and another vessel, which was intercepted by Israeli forces on Sunday, set sail to Gaza from Europe last week.

As part of this morning's verdict, the couple were also ordered to pay €42,500 in compensation to the boy and another survivor of the abuse - a young girl. It said the mother was aware from the start of the man's pedophile tendencies and previous conviction.

Freiburg police chief Peter Egetemaier said that the investigation into the couple had led them to around 20 other people who are now under investigation for child sexual abuse based on confiscated images and video footage.

They are accused of having sexually assaulted the boy - who was nine when their trial began in June - as well as pimping him on the so-called darknet for more than two years.

He also made serious accusations against the child's mother.

Local authorities have been accused of failing to protect the boy from his abusive parents, after officials removed him from his home, but returned him back weeks later.

The judge, Stefan Bürgelin, said the child's mother started abusing her child after her partner, Christian L, threatened to leave her.
