YouTube's move of banning content by the USA conspiracy theorist Alex Jones comes days after Facebook, Apple and Spotify toughened their stand against the radio show host and banned him on their platforms.

Dorsey's remarks, in a series of tweets late Tuesday, came after other major tech companies removed Jones' content for violating hate speech policies.

Twitter said it is standing by its decision not to ban accounts associated with right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, despite "outside pressure" for it to ban his content.

"All users agree to comply with our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines when they sign up to use YouTube", a spokesperson for Google's video site wrote in an email. "We'll enforce if he does", he said.

Earlier this week, Apple removed five of six Infowars podcasts from its iTunes and Podcast apps for violating its hate speech guidelines.

Last week, YouTube also took action against Jones, banning InfoWars from its live-streaming platform for three months.

Drama grips court as Manafort lawyers accuse Rick Gates of multiple affairs
The email exchange occurred after Manafort left the Trump campaign but while Gates was active on the Trump inauguration committee. Gates was hired by Manafort to serve as deputy campaign chairman and later had a role on Mr Trump's inaugural committee.

United States radio host Alex Jones (C) uses a megaphone to speak to crowds near the Quicken Loans Arena, the venue for the 2016 Republican National Convention.

"Twitter remains Jones' only big portal to mainstream conversation..."

Jones is facing five defamation suits, as NPR's Bill Chappell and Anastasia Tsioulcas reported, majority centering around comments on school shootings: "He has been accused of knowingly spreading false information about the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting this year, the violence in Charlottesville, Va., last year and the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2012".

Jones' Instagram (owned by Facebook) account is still active, as is his Periscope account, which is owned by Twitter.

He said he wanted the company to avoid succumbing to outside pressure but instead impartially enforce straightforward principles "regardless of political viewpoints". Dorsey acknowledged previous year that the company hasn't done enough to curb such abuse and protect users.

Senator Murphy rejected the criticism, arguing that restrictions on free speech by companies could not be compared to government censorship and that the case of Jones - who is a controversial figure standing accused of endorsing conspiracy theories and bullying - would not lead to more cases of online censorship of popular voices.
