LeBron shouts out Khalil Mack

  • NFL notebook: Rodgers leaves with leg injury

Rodgers returned in the third quarter and led the Packers on their first scoring drive, which ended with Mason Crosby's 42-yard field goal to cut it to 20-3.

All signs point to Mack, even without a training camp and still quite new to the Bears' defensive system, facing the Packers in Sunday night's season opener at Lambeau Field.

The Chicago Bears almost had a superb upset to start the 2018 National Football League season against the rival Green Bay Packers, which was fueled by recently-acquired star Khalil Mack.

I originally wrote this lead to read it was impossible to tell which side of the ball for the Bears was more impressive Sunday night at Green Bay: the offense or defense.

Everything was going the Chicago Bears way in the first half.

Was it Mack's lack of a preseason that stole a quarter step from him late in the game?

Edge defender Khalil Mack was dominant at times, especially in the first half when he recorded several pressures, topping it off with a strip sack fumble and interception return for a touchdown.

This rematch of the French Open final in June, won by Nadal , was his first match against a top-20 opponent at the U.S. Asked about that at his news conference, Thiem said with a chuckle: "Well, I don't think he's really sorry".

Rodgers, 34, finished the game 20 of 30 for 286 yards (273 in the second half) and three touchdown passes, all in the fourth quarter.

And especially because how terrible the Packers played in the first half.

"I don't really think much changed, I feel like we let them make too many big plays down the stretch", Mack said.

"They were trying to get Mack on the field obviously as many plays as possible, which we figured". I'll bet Jon Gruden and his coaching staff stayed disciplined and mainly steered away from the televisions tonight, but the players were watching. Green Bay's offensive line adjusted in the second half and did a better job shutting Mack down.

The Packers cut the Bears' lead to 20-17 with 9:01 to play on Aaron Rodgers' 12-yard touchdown pass to Davante Adams. The ovation from the crowd lifts you up, gives the energy, the momentum of the game, and you feel the tide turning. He went 23-for-35 for 171 yards.

Trubisky has also scored on a 2-yard run.

"Walking out (for) the second half", Rodgers said when asked when he knew the Packers would win.
