  • Australia will play the fourth Test against South Africa at Wanderers in Johannesburg

Pakistan's batsmen continued to prosper on a flat pitch on Monday to reach 329-4 at lunch on the second day of the first Test against Australia in Dubai. Things will get tougher for Australia on a crumbling pitch and their biggest hurdle - the spin.

Australia trail Pakistan by 452 runs with all ten wickets intact, but they face a big battle ahead of them with Yasir expected to pose the main threat.

Australia ended Day 2 on 30 without loss, with debutant opener Aaron Finch on 13* and Usman Khawaja on 17*.

Pakistan began day two at 255/3 with Haris Sohail and Mohammad Abbas on the crease.

Sohail's patient six-hour knock featured eight fours and two sixes, as he added 150 for the fifth wicket with Shafiq who was unlucky to miss out on his 10th century.

This is part of the game, it's still early for me. "I'm very open about it", Fabregas said. "But I'd love to stay at the club". He is a player that has many good sides to him.

Part-time leg spinner Marnus Labuschagne finally broke through just before the tea break when he lured Shafiq to drive the ball away from his body and got the thick outside edge to Paine behind the wickets.

"I've been working really hard with Sri [Cricket Australia consultant Sridharan Sriram] and John Davison back home, making sure we get that length right".

Lyon finished with figures of 2-114, while paceman Peter Siddle returned 3-58 as the Pakistan tail crumbled, with the last six wickets going down for 72 runs.

Azhar Ali departed with a little over three overs remaining, caught at mid-off by Mitchell Starc for an 80-ball 18 while trying to hit Holland out of the ground.

The second and final test will be played on October 16 in Abu Dhabi.
