Mourinho Reveals Halftime Talk For Big Comeback Win

  • Manchester United dismiss report Mourinho will be sacked today

After a bad start in which they conceded twice in the opening 10 minutes, United turned the game on its head in the second half and they emerged with a 3-2 win at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Jose Mourinho is demanding the public backing of Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward before Saturday's Old Trafford clash with Newcastle, sources have told ESPN FC.

Substitute Alexis Sanchez grabbed the victor with a dramatic 90th-minute header, giving the hosts what had seemed like an unlikely victory and sending Old Trafford wild. Early goals from Chelsea loanee Kenedy and Yoshinori Muto had given Newcastle the lead, with Mourinho's side lacking fluency in their build up play and looking at sixes and sevens at the back. "Everyone was saying the players don't want to play, they don't want to fight".

The under-pressure Portuguese manager may agree with Merson's assessment of the Magpies' current attacking threat however it's clear that he wouldn't choose to play Benitez's side ahead of anyone, as it's a hard game.

Yet United made it clear on Saturday morning that Mourinho's position is not under imminent threat, as they insisted no decision has been made over his long-term future.

It certainly wasn't his best game this season but he played his part in the much needed win and now United will hope he returns from the worldwide break without an injury. I understand things in the human nature nowadays and in the industry where I work, I used to love it, I still love it is but it is different.

Trump mocks Christine Blasey Ford over Kavanaugh allegations
The letter also says Kavanaugh gave "intemperate, inflammatory" responses and was "discourteous" to senators. Kavanaugh is accused of sexually assaulting a woman decades ago when the two were in high school.

Asked at his pre-match press conference on Friday if he felt he had taken United as far as he could last season, Mourinho said: "No".

"I think opponents with much more potential than us finished behind us".

"I'm furious at thinking this has broken out". I go to London now and if it rains tomorrow in London then it is my fault.

And before the game with Rafa Benitez's men, it was reported by the Mirror that Mourinho "has lost the confidence of the Manchester United board and is set to be sacked". "I'm furious going back three, four years ago, when [David] Moyes was sacked and it broke the day before. I have no doubts about that", he said.

Manchester City are ready to continue their efforts to buy every player in the world after they turned their attention to Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, the Sunday Star believes. "I worked since I was a kid - I worked for this, and I will love it until my last day, so it's one more experience in my life". I think opponents with much more potential than us finished behind us.
