Jones tells his England players to take the lead role this weekend

  • All Blacks prop Joe Moody has been forced to deal with injuries to his shoulder finger knee thumb and an eyelid this year

Head coach Eddie Jones refused to be drawn on the controversial decision which denied England a memorable win over New Zealand at Twickenham on Saturday.

However Damian McKenzie's try just before the half-time, and a Beauden Barrett penalty, got New Zealand back to within five points.

"I thought we played the final 20 (minutes) exceptionally well", Jones added.

Winger Chris Ashton, making his first England start in four years, scored within two minutes and co-captain Dylan Hartley also crossed in a quality opening to the game at Twickenham.

England have beaten the All Blacks just once in 15 meetings, a 38-12 win at Twickenham in December 2012, and many pundits are predicting another loss for an injury-hampered home side against the team heavily tipped to retain their World Cup crown in Japan next year.

"So many people from so many countries lost their lives and it changed families for ever, but they lost them trying to do what was right for their country and there were a lot of New Zealanders involved".

Sure enough, back the All Blacks came and when they finally forced a penalty in front of the posts captain Kieran Read opted for a scrum.

"There was a real rugby fever after the World Cup because of the success of the team", Joseph said. "We're prepared to stay in the game so we'll get some love further down the track don't worry". You've got to be reasonably stupid if you can't work out this is going to be big.

"We're taking it seriously and that's why we have to be absolutely ruthless about the game", Jones said.

Kourtney also shared a message on social media, writing, "I pray that everyone is kept safe and protected from these fires". The gossip website also said Caitlin Jenner's home that sat on a ridge overlooking Malibu beach had been destroyed.

"England actually got off to a great start", he said.

England beat South Africa before losing to the All Blacks in their autumn internationals. "It was a fantastic game of rugby and we're obviously devastated, ' said Jones".

"We're disappointed, but we're excited about where we're going", Jones added. Kyle Sinkler, Maro Itoje and Ben Te'o all made brilliant yards before the ball went wide to Ashton who went over in the corner thanks to the wet ground.

"There was no doubt he (Lawes) is offside".

Before the match some players had called on England fans to drown out the Haka and "Swing Low Sweet Chariot" rang around "HQ" as the All Blacks performed the traditional war dance. "If we do that, we're on the road to being the best team in the world, which is what we set out to be".

"If we'd kept going for another five minutes, we maybe would've got them".

"Any time you put the poppy on is a pretty special occasion marking one of the disastrous occasions, World War I and what happened then", he told reporters in the New Zealand team's hotel on the banks of London's River Thames Thursday. Goodhue was unavailable for selection in Yokohama due to illness but has recovered in time to be considered for the Test with England.

Jones called on his players to act as movie directors rather than extras in the 41st instalment of the fixture and they did exactly that in the first half.

"The other 67 percent want to beat them, so we're happy to go out there and get stuck in".
