"If she was a Republican and she was running against Trump in the primary, I'd have a tough decision to make", Watters quipped.

Billionaire media mogul Oprah Winfrey, in the first of several campaign stops to boost Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams on Thursday, told the cheering crowd that they are poised "on the precipice of a historic election".

Oprah Winfrey has lent her star power to the Georgia Democrat aiming to become America's first black female governor in the midterm elections next week.

"I've got a message for all of Stacey Abrams' liberal Hollywood friends: This ain't Hollywood", Pence said.

She praised Abrams as a leader who "will serve the underserved of the state of Georgia". In a video posted on her Instagram, Winfrey knocked on the red door of a brick house, and a woman named Denise came to the door. She faces Republican Brian Kemp, who was appearing with Vice President Mike Pence at a trio of events in the state Thursday.

The chancellor threw her weight behind her friend in Hesse and visited him four times on the campaign trail in recent weeks. But the CDU and ecologist Greens may lack sufficient support to renew their ruling alliance in the state.

"Brian Kemp's getting the support of all kinds of hard-working, good people all across Georgia, and Stacey Abrams is being bankrolled by Hollywood liberals", Pence said.

Among that "onslaught", Winfrey blasted Republican ads she'd seen in her hotel room casting Abrams as too radical for the state, calling it "noise...created to confound you with fear". With Metz consistently pulling down just a couple of points of support, no poll of the race so far has either Kemp nor Abrams breaking 50 percent.

Interesting position, because local Republicans have, from time to time, touting a tax credit that has turned Georgia into a film-making force; the industry contributed an estimated $2.7 billion in direct spending in Georgia previous year, according to a report in the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Georgia, however, is home to a booming film industry, thanks to more than $1 billion in tax credits over the past decade, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Winfrey has since dismissed the notion that she would challenge Trump in 2020.

"Surprised?" the woman, named Denise, said.
