Don't panic! "Friends" will still be there for you on Netflix

There's a high likelihood of the show leaving Netflix for this new home much the same way Disney's upcoming streaming service Disney+ led to the recent cancellation by Netflix of its three Marvel series Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Daredevil. After that, however, the show's Netflix fate is unknown.

Over the weekend, attentive fans of the hit sitcom noticed that Netflix had put an expiration date on the program's detail page, which leaves them in a forlorn state. But it came with a lofty price tag: Netflix shelled out $118 million (pennies for the service today) for the streaming rights and to digitally remaster every single episode for HD streaming capabilities. Granted, that fee will diminish once the show isn't exclusive to the platform, but WarnerMedia clearly doesn't want to give up a significant revenue stream from Netflix.

There won't be a break from "Friends" on Netflix after all. With HBO, Warner Bros., and TBS, WarnerMedia's content is a bit more diffuse. Disney will be launching its own streaming service Disney+ in 2019, and is slowly pulling Disney, Marvel and Star Wars content from Netflix and allowing the Marvel shows it makes in partnership with Netflix to end.

Ahead of the wedding, Chopra and Jonas sat for a puja, or prayer ceremony, that traditionally kicks off the wedding. Underneath the long-sleeve gown was a strapless column dress made up of over two million mother of pearl sequins.

Request for comment from Netflix was not immediately returned.

The idea that Friends would leave Netflix for WarnerMedia's new streaming service, meanwhile, is of course not a radical idea either.

"The Holiday Armadillo has granted your wish: "Friends" will still be there for you in the USA throughout 2019", the U.S. account tweeted - a reference to the season 7 episode in which Ross improvises a new holiday character after being unable to find a Santa suit. You know, more Bojack, less Christmas Prince. They may not be there for you forever.
