  • John Wall could miss six-to-eight months if he decides to have heel surgery. More

Washington Wizards John Wall has chose to undergo foot surgery, which would cause him to miss the rest of the season, according to multiple reports. Recovery could sideline the point guard for six months.

The Washington Post first reported that surgery could be necessary.

The surgery was prescribed by doctors and is expected to help heal bone spurs that have plagued Wall for years, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania. Wall on Saturday met with specialist Dr. Robert Anderson, who recommended the surgery.

The Wizards are hosting the Chicago Bulls on Friday and John Wall is not playing.

Natural disaster hits Sicily. There are damages and injures
Mount Etna, 3,300 meters high, is the biggest active volcano in Europe, with frequent eruptions recorded in the past 2,700 years. Some buildings were reportedly affected in what was the most recent in dozens of tremors since Etna broke out on Monday.

Brooks would not speculate on the severity of the injury. How they decide to play the rest of the season, fully tanking or competing for the No. 8 seed, will be interesting to see with the trade deadline a little bit over a month away.

Wall missed 41 games in the 2017-18 season due to knee injuries, and he has had multiple procedures on his left knee. Wall in 32 games played this season put up averages of 20.7 points, 8.7 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game.

John Wall of the Wizards appears to be headed toward surgery on his left heel.

Wall's injury also highlights a serious lack of depth in the point guard position for the team.
