Doctor Who’s Faithful Companions (INFOGRAPHIC)

I discovered Dr. Who when it started back in 2005, after a break of 16 years. This BBC sci-fi series aired on TV from 1963 through 1989 then went off the air and came back, like I said earlier, in 2005 with Christopher Eccleston as the Ninth Doctor and Billie Piper as his companion, Rose Tyler.

This British series is about an alien who is over than 900 years old and traveling the universe in his traveling machine called the TARDIS, an acronym for Time And Relative Dimensions In Space, which looks like an old English phone booth. He almost always travels with a companion, and they experience many adventures together.

Now, 11 Doctors later, Matt Smith is landed as his third season and will start the second half of the season with a new companion, played by Jenna-Louise Coleman, as Clara Oswin Oswald. Fans, and I, will await impatiently the latter half of the series 7 which is set to debut March 30, 2013. Since it will be starting very soon, I thought a cool infographic about the history of the Doctor’s companions would be fun and interesting to check out. So here it is below!
