Why I Decided To Take A Break From Blogging

Well, it took me a while to realize it, but I seriously need a break from blogging. Not permanently, but for two or three weeks. I have been thinking about this for a while now, and it suddenly hit me yesterday. I can’t write posts anymore until I recover the love of blogging.

How long is this bugging me

Maybe some of you have noticed that lately, I have problems keeping up with my schedule of one post per week. For some time now, I write every 10 days or so and I even skipped my weekly post a couple of times.

I am more tired than usual, and I often find myself laying on the couch watching T.V. while thinking that I should write articles, but too tired to do anything. Inspiration is failing me, and it almost became a chore to write. I don’t want to give it up, but I want to get the thrill of writing back.

What I want to get back by taking a break

I want to be excited again by the process of writing my next post. The thrill of finding the right picture and doing the research for my next post’s subject. I have been blogging for almost 4 years, and I think it’s time that I distance myself from the many obligations that require blogging each week. At least for a little while.

Don’t worry, I won’t forget you!

Don’t worry, I won’t forget you! I’ll still be sharing my old posts and other people’s articles, writing my contributor posts, as well as writing comments on your posts, but I want to be free from the commitment of writing each week like clockwork.

I want to resource myself so I can come back ready and eager to write each week like before. I don’t want to give it up, and I know that a little break will do me a world of good. This is a very much needed break.

Thank you all for your support

and see you in a few weeks!

  1. Hi Nataly,

I think it’s great you’re taking some time off. I know when I step away for a week or so, it does me some good and ideas for a blog post comes easier. I’m ready for a break too but trying to put it off for the week of Thanksgiving and take a couple days off then. I know, not really a break :).

You will definitely be missed but at least we can keep up with each other on social media ;). Enjoy your time off and we’ll be here when you get back!

    1. Hi Cori,

I tried to put it off for a little while longer, but I just couldn’t write anymore. I’m sure that inspiration will come back to me after taking some time off.

Try to take some time off too, hun. I’m sure it will help you to resource yourself and recharge your energy. You deserve it!

Thanks for your kind words, gf! See you on social media. Have a great weekend! 🙂

  2. Hi Nataly,

Just caught you in time! 🙂

So glad you are taking a few days off as well – I think every blogger deserves a break and why not, they work round the clock and not everyone can stay motivated all the time. You know I am on a break too, so we meet whenever one’s back now. Enjoy your break and rejuvenate yourself.

Thanks for sharing- happy weekend as well 🙂

    1. Hi Harleena,

Thanks for taking some time on your break to comment on my post. You’re right, every blogger deserves a break.

Thanks for your nice wishes. Enjoy the rest of your break too and see you soon! Have a great weekend too! 🙂

  3. Hi Nataly; Most of us can relate to this and I hope you have a lovely break. When blogging becomes difficult or a chore, it’s time to step back, re=energize and regroup. I took 4 months off from Sept. 2014 to Jan. 2015 and it worked wonders! Your core followers will stay with you, no matter what. Cheers!

    1. Hi Debbie,

You’re so right! Blogging shouldn’t be a chore. That’s when it’s time for a break. I’m glad to see that your time off worked wonders for you.

Thanks for stopping by and see you on social media! Hope you’re having a great weekend! 🙂

  4. Hi Nataly,

We all need a break from time to time, especially when it comes to inspiration to write articles. Think that artists don’t produce often but when they do, their work is amazing. Enjoy your break and pamper yourself. This is my first time to your blog and I would really love to read more from you! 🙂
